The SPGG Endowment Fund has had a successful run since its official launch in late 2012. Together with the Government 1.5 times matching, the SPGG Endowment Fund stands at $5.45 million. As of June 2018, the SPGG Endowment Fund has achieved its stated objectives.
All future donations will be channelled to the newly created SPGG Education Fund. Similar to the Endowment Fund, the SPGG Education Fund continues to receive support from our donors.
Why Launch The Fund? (SPGG EF)

SPGG Endowment Fund (2012 - 2018)
Ideally, every Singapore Polytechnic student should have a memorable time learning, growing and graduating. Unfortunately, there are less fortunate ones who have to support themselves and their families by working part-time while studying. In extreme cases, some may drop out due to financial hardship.
The SPGG Endowment Fund was launched in late 2012 to offer a Gift of Education to students from humbler backgrounds who may be less academically, gifted but equally deserving of financial help.
The SPGG Endowment Fund was launched in late 2012 to offer a Gift of Education to students from humbler backgrounds who may be less academically, gifted but equally deserving of financial help.
Since its inception, SPGG has raised almost $2.2 million ($2,183,133.58) in donations from around 80 donors. It stands at over $5 million with Government matching and about 400 bursaries have been awarded to deserving students.
Without the generosity of our donors and tireless efforts of the fundraising committee, all of that would not have been possible. Our donors come from many walks of life but share a common purpose—to better the lives of needy students.
It is a heart-warming moment to be involved in this kind of contribution process to better deserving SP students. We encourage you to come forward or introduce new Donors to be part of this worthy cause, in support of our alma mater and less privileged SP students. The bursary award is a meaningful token of giving that is more than a one-off donation as it will benefit the beneficiaries’ lives for years to come.

“Since its launch, over 200 SP needy students have benefitted from the SPGG Endowment Fund. These students come from families who have great difficulties funding their schooling expenses. It is heart-warming to see our SP alumnus making a difference in the lives of their juniors by providing this support.” |

“I am honoured and overjoyed to help SPGG launch this endowed bursary award for needy students in SP. It is my hope that the recipients of these bursary awards will be future donors to help others in the same manner that we have helped them. SPGG should be commended for this worthy project which will help those students in need to attain a good education in SP and help themselves and their family to break the poverty cycle.” |
Mr Yeo Keng Joon National University of Singapore MBA Alumnus, Class of 1985 Advisor, SPGG Endowment Fund |

This philanthropic initiative impacts needy students positively, relieving them of their study expenses and paving a way for them to excel and realize their potential. Your giving makes them a difference in someone’s life.” |
Mr Tan Choon Shian Former Principal & CEO, Singapore Polytechnic |
I almost could not finish my first year back at school in the 1970s due to a lack of money. If not for the support, financial and otherwise, I would not have been able to obtain my diploma – a passport into the working world. Just as I was a beneficiary of kindness in the form of a priceless gift of education." |
